What’s Happening in Fort Wayne
We know there’s more to being a student then spending all your time in the classroom or studying. Fort Wayne has a lot to offer students of all ages, and we encourage you to see what our city has to offer.
The city of Fort Wayne, IN, boasts a population of more than 250,000 people. Our downtown offers numerous dining, entertainment, and recreational opportunities. Fort Wayne blends the best of many amenities found in a bigger city with the benefits of small city, low cost of living, and easy commuting distances.
Since Indiana Tech is nestled on the edge of downtown Fort Wayne, law students will be able to enjoy activities in the Downtown Improvement District, at baseball games and other events at Parkview Field, or by taking part in the many events and festivals at Headwaters Park.
Fort Wayne offers a variety of dining options, many of which are located within only a few miles of the Law School. Some of these restaurants include:
- Calhoun Street Soup Salad & Spirits
- Club Soda
- The Dash-In
- Don Hall’s Old Gas House
- J. K .O’Donnell’s
- Pint and Slice
- Mad Anthony Brewery
- The Oyster Bar
- Shigs In Pit
With a thriving business and legal community, Tech Law students will be able to benefit from the many professional opportunities our curriculum has to offer. As the county seat of Allen County, Fort Wayne courts see a wide range of cases. Both the county and federal court buildings are less than two miles from our campus.
In addition to our legal community, there is also considerable business here. The greater region is home to Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, formed in 2006 to help build a globally competitive economy.
Arts & Entertainment
In addition to Fort Wayne’s significant professional opportunities, there is an impressive philanthropic and fine arts presence. Our Fort Wayne Philharmonic offers programs for nearly every musical palate. The Philharmonic often performs at the historic Embassy Theatre, which also holds many other concerts and events. With our own ballet company, art museum, and civic theatre, there are arts and entertainment for nearly everyone’s taste.
